This independently operated reference site is not a government office. It cannot verify custody, arrange a release, post bail, or retrieve an official booking record. Please use the correct public office below for an official answer.

Official Multnomah County Contacts

For a current-custody question, use MCSO’s PAID lookup first and call the jail for immediate jail questions. For a booking or custody record, submit a precise request through MCSO’s Public Records Center rather than using a social-media post or general contact form.

MCSO’s FY 2026 schedule lists a $15 general filing fee that includes two pages, $2 for each additional page, $45 for a standard search, $45 per hour for archive research, $60 per hour for custom research, and $10 for a booking-photo reproduction only if an image is legally releasable. MCSO gives a pre-production estimate and requires payment before delivery. Oregon’s public-records process has a response baseline of no later than 15 business days, though MCSO may give written notice and an estimated completion date when more time is needed. The source material does not provide office counter hours, so confirm hours directly before visiting.

  • For a city police incident record, contact PPB Records at 503-823-0756 or Gresham Police records at 503-618-2318. A city report and an MCSO booking record are separate records.
  • For warrant status, contact Multnomah County Courts at 971-274-0545. Sheriff’s Most Wanted explains why a general MCSO warrant database should not be assumed.
  • For an MCSO tip, use 503-988-0560. Use 911 for an emergency, and do not approach a person believed to be wanted.
  • For older county records, County Archives lists 503-988-3741 and records@multco.us. For court status, use the Oregon Judicial Department’s public Records and Calendar Search, then the Multnomah Circuit Court for official copies.
  • For a person in Oregon DOC custody or community corrections, use the official Oregon Offender Search. Federal and immigration detention questions belong with the respective BOP or ICE locator, not MCSO.
  • The countywide guide explains these paths, the no-photo PAID policy, and records-request details. Mugshots in the News covers the difference between a media report and an official record.
